Miniopteridae
Miniopterus, commonly referred to as bent-winged or long-winged bats, represents the only genus within the family Miniopteridae. These bats are small, insect-eating mammals belonging to the order Chiroptera, characterized by having wings that are more than twice the length of their bodies. Originally, Miniopterus was classified within a subfamily of vespertilionid bats called Miniopterinae; however, it is now recognized as its own distinct family.
