Megadermatidae
Megadermatidae, or false vampire bats, are a family of bats found in central Africa, southern Asia, and Australia. They range from 6.5 to 14 cm in head-body length and have large eyes, ears, and prominent nose-leaves. All species lack tails and often have a wide uropatagium. Their colors vary from drab brown to white, bluish-grey, or olive-green for better camouflage. Primarily insectivorous, they also consume small vertebrates.
False vampire bats have head and body lengths of 65–140 mm and forearm lengths of 50–115 mm. All species feature large ears with divided tragi and long nose-leaves, and they all lack upper incisors, though their dental formulas may vary. The ghost bat is the largest member of the family.
