Craseonycteridae

Kitti’s hog-nosed bat (Craseonycteris thonglongyai), or bumblebee bat, is a near-threatened species and the smallest bat, found in western Thailand and southeast Myanmar, inhabiting limestone caves near rivers. It has a reddish-brown or grey coat and a pig-like snout. Colonies typically have around 100 individuals, and they forage for insects during brief periods at dusk and dawn. Females usually give birth to one offspring annually. The Thai population is limited to one province and faces risks from habitat degradation and disturbance of roosting sites.
