Whitebait

Whitebait refers to the immature fry of various fish species, typically measuring between 25 and 50 millimeters (1 to 2 inches) in length. These young fish often swim in schools along coastlines and venture into estuaries, occasionally entering rivers. They are easily caught using fine-meshed fishing nets. The practice of catching whitebait is known as whitebaiting.
