Spiders (order Araneae) are air-breathing arthropods with eight limbs, venomous fangs, and silk-producing spinnerets. They are the largest order of arachnids and rank seventh in species diversity among all organisms. Spiders inhabit every continent except Antarctica and thrive in nearly all terrestrial habitats.
