Sonogram

The analysis of bird songs is enhanced through frequency spectrum analysis, which plots frequency (in kilohertz, or kHz) against time (in seconds or milliseconds) to create a “sonogram.” This method allows researchers to examine song details in greater depth, track the development of a bird’s song repertoire over a season, and compare song types among individuals of the same species.
