Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock

Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock (13 August 1899 – 29 April 1980) was an English film director regarded as one of cinema’s most influential figures. Over a career spanning six decades, he directed more than 50 feature films, many of which are still studied today. Known as the “Master of Suspense,” Hitchcock gained fame through interviews, cameo appearances in his films, and as the host of “Alfred Hitchcock Presents” (1955–65). He received 46 Academy Award nominations, winning six, but never earned the Best Director award despite five nominations.
