Seed

A seed is a plant embryo surrounded by a protective seed coat, known as the testa, and contains a nutrient reserve. Generally, “seed” can also refer to anything that can be sown, including husks or tubers. Seeds form from a ripened ovule after fertilization by pollen, creating a zygote. The embryo develops from this zygote and grows within the mother plant until growth temporarily stops.
