Moorland, or moor, is a unique habitat found in upland regions of temperate grasslands and montane areas, characterized by low-growing vegetation on acidic soils. Typically, moorland refers to uncultivated hill land like Dartmoor in South West England, but it also includes low-lying wetlands such as Sedgemoor.
