Hake

Hakes are medium-to-large fish weighing between 0.5 to 3.6 kilograms, with some reaching up to 27 kg and growing as long as 1 metre. They live in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans at depths of 200 to 350 metres, staying deep during the day and moving to shallower waters at night. Hake feed on bottom-dwelling prey and have a similar appearance between males and females. After spawning, their eggs float to the surface, and the larvae later migrate to depths of less than 200 metres.
