Grassland

Grasslands are areas dominated by grasses (Poaceae), with some sedges (Cyperaceae), rushes (Juncaceae), legumes like clover, and other herbs present. Found on every continent except Antarctica, they are one of the largest biomes, covering 31% to 69% of the Earth’s land area. Grasslands can be classified into natural, semi-natural, and agricultural types.
