Climate change refers to both global warming, which is the ongoing rise in Earth’s average temperature, and its broader impacts. It also includes long-term climate changes from the past. The increase in global temperatures today is mainly caused by human activities, particularly the burning of fossil fuels since the Industrial Revolution.
