The Arctic is a polar region located in the northernmost part of Earth. It includes parts of northern Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, the United States (Alaska), Canada, Greenland, and northern Iceland, along with the Arctic Ocean and surrounding seas.
The region experiences seasonal variations in snow and ice cover and is characterized by treeless permafrost under the tundra. The Arctic is home to a diverse range of life, including marine and land animals, plants, and human societies, particularly among the indigenous peoples who have adapted to its extreme conditions. The Arctic land is bordered by the subarctic region.
