Amphibian

Amphibians are ectothermic, anamniotic, four-limbed vertebrates that belong to the class Amphibia. They have evolved to be primarily semiaquatic and have adapted to thrive in a wide range of habitats. Most species inhabit freshwater, wetland, or terrestrial ecosystems, such as riparian woodlands, fossorial environments, and even arboreal areas. Their life cycle typically begins with aquatic larvae known as tadpoles, which have gills. However, some species have developed behavioral adaptations to bypass this larval stage.
